Whale Rocks and Devlins Creek, Lane Cove National Park

We decided to go for a longer walk then normal today so set of to Pennant Hills for this 6.2 km walk. Even though we are close to the city as can be seen from one of the lookouts you are completely surrounded by bush.

Whale Rock

Beside the creek some kids (or maybe adults) have been having fun making Koala and

Platypus models. Very well done I might add.

Beautiful Grevillea. There were quiet a lot of flowers out for this time of year.

After the walk we had a picnic lunch near the hockey field at Pennant Hills Park (where we started the walk) and we were joined by 3 Kookaburras. We did not feed them.

A wonderful 'medium' difficulty walk. We started from Pennant Hills Park and walked clockwise which is definitely the direction to go as you walk down the steep slopes and then walk up the steps. If you go the opposite way it is down steps and up steep slopes (a lot harder).
